First Hamptons Weekend

At 10 a.m., I woke up to this view outside my bedroom window...
We had a bit of a late night (for me) on Friday. Dinner at Pierre's in Bridgehampton, followed by drinks at Almond. (Nate had a Chilean sea bass with mashed potatoes that was so good it made me want to cry. My linguine with clams and mussels was good but did not compare to that or Neil's tuna or Dan's duck.) On the way out of the restaurant, Neil spotted Kourtney Kardashian...he never ceases to amaze with his celeb sighting prowess.

Anyway, by the time I woke up, the boys had made scrambled eggs, strawberry salad (with Vidalia onion dressing) and bacon for brunch.
Ryan's dog Truman was ready for his share...
We had a fabulous day of lounging by the pool. It was hot, but Nate and Dan and I toughed it out and took plenty of dips to cool off.
In the early afternoon, Neil and I went to the grocery store so I could make dinner. On the menu: grilled peach chipotle barbecue chicken, orzo with tomatoes and herbs, and arugula salad with mint vinaigrette and cucumber, Granny Smith apple and avocado (from Fresh Every Day).
The chicken was another one of Gwynneth Paltrow's recipes from Bon Appetit. I know she has some haters, but this was some good chicken! Nate did a great job of grilling it. The sauce had peaches, garlic, lemon juice, ketchup and adobo sauce, and I marinated it a good 4 hours so it had plenty of time to soak up the flavor.

Neil and Nate's new kitchen is fantastic! So much space, and they had everything I needed. They moved in last weekend, so this was the first full weekend to enjoy their new home.

Dessert was banana pudding ice cream, recipe courtesy of the Lee Brothers. I caramelized bananas in butter, brown sugar and rum, and then made a frozen custard. We sprinkled crushed Nilla wafers on top. Yummers!

OMG! What an incredible weekend. I love the photos of the gorgeous home, supremely happy people (and dog), sumptious menu. And even a celebrity siting! A super initiation of the new residence and celebration of friendship.
