I enjoyed this post immensely. Great writing. I can't wait to learn what the letter says (your birthday has passed, right?).

Whatever the 16 year old you hoped for, I can't imagine she'd be anything but happy with everything the current you seems to have accomplished.

Are you going to write another letter for the 50yr old you?jwatsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04159647606805508532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4092538749401362058.post-55766503131222922472010-09-02T12:39:50.690-04:002010-09-02T12:39:50.690-04:00Loved the last line of the post and will have to r...Loved the last line of the post and will have to remember that when facing those moments of "how did I get here?" And M. I'm totally going to have to use your aunt's line...classic!Whitneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15870283409783211564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4092538749401362058.post-87000805260058649482010-09-01T12:05:51.010-04:002010-09-01T12:05:51.010-04:00As a fellow Virgo and over-achiever, I related to ...As a fellow Virgo and over-achiever, I related to every single thing that you wrote. My life at almost-31 is so not what I had imagined it would be when I was 18. My master plan had me married by 26 and done having children by 30. I also planned to be working somewhere (anywhere!) other than where I currently do.

And yet I count my blessings that life did not go as I had planned. My life may not be as glamorous as I had hoped, and I may not have (yet) achieved all that I had wanted, but it's still a good, rich (metaphorically speaking) life.

As for your handsome, kind, smart man... My aunt always says, "You don't want him until God's done working on him." If I began making a list of the things I admire about you and your life, it would fill the "A" section of the paper and the perspective page would be noticeably slim on opposition opinion. I hope your HS letter is reflective of the hope that still drives you even if some of the specifics aren't precisely what you dreamed at 17. That brilliant, handsome guy who is kind and good is also hoping for someone like you. He'll come along before too long. When he does, I hope you find it is a beautiful thing to share with your beloved those trips to Target for the economy size toilet paper pack.Steve Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04298555756686668141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4092538749401362058.post-51423841608197386862010-09-01T11:16:33.428-04:002010-09-01T11:16:33.428-04:00oh wow!
